There will be keynote lectures, interactive workshops and a parallel Citizen Focused Design Challenge - hacking the urban environment, aimed at both Norwegian and international participants from business, the public sector, design, research and education.
The workshops and lectures will be equally relevant if you are working at an operational or a strategic level, and are especially targeted at decision makers in both private and public sectors as well as designers of all disciplines, architects and city planners.
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Dan Formosa, one of the founding members of Smart Design, will facilitate a method-based practical and interactive workshop in people-centred design, providing good examples.
Rama Gheerawo, Deputy Director of the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design, together with Dan Phillips, Tutor in Service Design, Royal College of Art, will facilitate a business case-based and interactive workshop on inclusive design as a tool for innovation, providing good examples, inspiration, and arguments at a strategic level on “how to take it to the boardroom”.
The two workshops are parallel, and you can attend one workshop each day, as well as plenary sessions with several world class experts, such as Marco Steinberg, CEO at Snowcone & Haystack, and Anna Kirah, Chief Experience Officer at Making Waves.
The emphasis will be on presenting exemplary cases, different practical approaches, and techniques for involving people in the design and development process of products, services and environments. We will give you good examples, inspiration and arguments, and through interactive workshops we will present inclusive design tools and methods for easy application in your daily practice.
The event is part of the Oslo Innovation Week 2014. Register at: www.inclusivedesign.no
